Guidance
Through collaboration with students, parents, sending schools, post-secondary opportunities, and the community, the Student Services Department of the Indiana County Technology Center (ICTC) strives to provide a comprehensive school counseling program that focuses on providing each student with equity, access, and support and guidance relating to academic, career, and personal/social needs. The ICTC Student Services Department will advocate for knowledge and exploration of post-secondary and career options that will match each unique student and ensure a successful life following graduation. The Student Services Department also strives to create and maintain a collaborative relationship with the counselors from each sending school in order to best serve our students.
The ICTC School Counselor provides counseling services to students, serves as a liaison between ICTC and the sending school districts, provides support services to staff and students, and supervises the student services activities. Provides services and public relations between business and industry and ICTC. Provides academic, social/emotional, and career counseling services to all students, monitors the Strategic Student Intervention Process (SSIP) and provides support services to ICTC staff and the sending school districts.
In 2024-2025, ICTC became the first Career and Technology Center in a three-county region (Indiana, Cambria and Somerset) to offer mental health services to better facilitate the needs of the student body at no cost to the student or the family. ICTC contracted these services through a school-based counseling organization, R.E.A.C.H. This organization promotes Reaching Educational Achievements with Clinical Mental Health. The staff employed by R.E.A.C.H. provides clinical mental health services to all students in the school setting year-round, equipping the whole student with skills for success. These services can include: individual counseling, family involvement, small group counseling, and crisis assessment interventions.
