Cooperative Education
At the Indiana County Technology Center (ICTC), seniors have the unique opportunity to gain real-world experience through Cooperative Education. Current seniors can participate in Cooperative Education, a program that allows them to obtained paid work experience in their chosen career field during the school day. The purpose of cooperative education programs is to provide the student with competencies developed through paid, supervised, on-the-job training related to an occupational goal. This hands-on experience not only provides students with a glimpse into their future professions but also serves as a valuable stepping stone towards full-time employment post-graduation.
The ICTC Cooperative Education program permits the student to be released from the school campus to work part-time, 1-4 days per week. The student will report to the assigned job site of attending the Career and Technical Center on their assigned work days. The student/employee always represents the school district and is expected to demonstrate professional qualities of responsibility, dependability, ethical behavior, and maturity while performing tasks for the employer.
Prospective students must meet the following criteria: they must have at least a C average in all classes, not currently failing any classes, good attendance, a clean disciplinary record at ICTC and sending school, and have approval of the ICTC program instructor, guidance counselor, and principal.
Prospective students should discuss their intention with the program area instructor.
